How did you first hear about KRFF (Radio Free Fargo)? How long have you been involved there and when did you become General Manager/MD? Tell us about the duties of your job at Radio Free Fargo and what part of it you love the most and what you find the most challenging.

I researched college and radio in the Fargo-Moorhead area before relocating here. I have been at Radio Free Fargo 95.9 FM KRFF-LP for 11 years. One thing lead to another. I began as a DJ, then specialty program director. Then, I became one of 4 official directors listed with the state of North Dakota for the station. Other duties fell on me such as webmaster, music director, minor repairs, sales, PR/ community outreach, etc. I am the first female in any of these positions at Radio Free Fargo. It is a non-profit. Its mentality/ mindset was set in stone before I arrived. And, I am a woman over almost entirely men.

What is the process for reviewing new music and what sort of commitment does the station have to exposing your listeners to new releases?

Artists, bands, labels and promoters email me tons of new music. I discover new music and artists/ bands on my one online as well. And, sometimes at the Fargo Library system.

Who is an artist or band that you’ve discovered in the past year or so that has become one of your favorites? What is it about their music you love?

Felicity. Crossover artist. Quality.

Do you have an all-time favorite artist or album you never get tired of listening to?

I listen to Nazarth’s album ‘Close Enough For Rock and Roll’ fairly often.

What upcoming 2025 release are you most anticipating the release of?

I am open to anything that’s good, interesting, quality.

Who is an artist or band totally outside the realm of the music you play on KRFF that holds a special place in your heart?

Everything is okay on my station as long as it fits within FCC guidelines. If it can be edited to conform to FCC guidelines, it’s okay.

If you had the power to instantly change one thing going on in the world at the moment, what would it be?

I would remove all enjoyment in maladaptive behaviours aka. sin.

What event in your life would you say has shaped you the most as a person?

Learning that I was a hermaphrodite aka Intersexed and 5 races. I have since gone through surgeries to be mono-gendered. I am multi-racial, submissive lesbian. Being born in a toilet known as the St. Louis, Missouri region. I left.

If you could choose, what time period in the past would you most want to travel back to visit and why?

As I am alone on Earth and as people are shallow, I live in the moment. Fore, this moment is all that I have. I will make the best of it. I could be dead in the next second. Now is the best time to live unless some crazy or mean person pulls a trigger and ends my life or some monster presses the Big Red Button and toasts the planet.

Do you have a favorite restaurant in the Fargo/Moorhead area that you’d recommend people try if they are ever there?

I like Tee’s Taco’s by my radio station. It’s small. They have a great selection and some specialties. They play Native music in the background. Real Native ‘sacred drums’ not New Age stuff.

What in your life brings you the most joy?

Giving to charities to help children and animals. Making others laugh and smile. Volunteering to help children and adults who have been victimized, neglected, abandoned, forgotten, exploited and abused. I can do better than my enemies.

Lightning round :

Dog or Cat? Only cats & dogs? I have pet birds, volunteered at a bird shelter and I donate to a bird shelter.
City or Country? I like all 3: city, country and suburbia. City and suburbia affords more opportunities.
Morning Person or Night Owl? I have head traumas, ASD, sleep apnea. So my sleep patterns are all f*cked up. Whatever.
Beach or Mountains? Mountains over beaches.
Sunny or Rainy? It depends.
Restaurant or Home Cooking? Cook at home.
Pants or Shorts? I prefer dresses and skirts, except in winter.
Warm or Cold drinks? I prefer my drinks to be lukewarm.

Do you have any current favorite shows you’re enjoying/binging? How about a movie (new or old) that you’ve watched recently that you loved?

I’ve had and have a massively different life. I don’t watch movies, tv series, read fiction, watch sports, play video games, play bingo or do crosswords, swim, eat out, hunt, etc.

Finally, If you could have a lifetime supply of anything, what would it be?

Endless multiple lifetimes, with good health, money, power, freedom, charisma, attractiveness and influence.
