“It’s hard for me to think of a year that had as many exciting album releases as 2024, as both legacy artists and fresh faces reached new heights. Many of my favorite albums this year found the perfect balance between cohesion and variety, as countless sounds were explored yet they still felt like complete visions rather than a haphazard collection of songs with nothing tying them together. It was this recurring theme that made sprawling epics such as “Imaginal Disk” or “Only God Was Above Us” feel as fun to just throw on and listen to as a playlist of pop hits.”
