NACC 200 NOTABLES:
1] Death Cab For Cutie continues to ride high at #1 on the NACC 200 this week and enjoys a fifth week on top with their 11th LP, I Built You A Tower. In doing so, they move into a tie with Dry Cleaning for the third-longest stay at #1 in 2026. That also puts them within one week of tying Mitski and Arlo Parks for the year’s longest stay in the NACC 200 penthouse. Their fiercest competition for the top spot comes in the form of Jack White, who soars from 14-2 this week. He also takes over the top spot at NACC NEXT and NACC Non-Comm.
2] Four new entries find their way into the NACC Top 10 this week, only the fourth time that’s happened this year. Making the biggest move into the top tier is Washington, DC native Kelela Mizanekristos, who records simply as Kelela. Her third LP, New Avatar, becomes her third straight Top 10-peaking album on our main chart. She also rises 7-3 at NACC R&B/Soul and debuts at #25 on NACC Hip Hop.
3] Another very notable Top 10 entry comes in the form of the new single from Phoebe Bridgers. “Lost Boys” becomes just the ninth single ever to reach the Top 10 of the NACC 200, rising 17-9 this week. Also making the Top 10 this week are the aforementioned Jack White, up 14-2 with his third Top 10-peaking solo effort on the NACC 200, and Knitting, who jumps 12-6 to score their first Top 10 after enjoying last week’s highest debut.
4] Making not only the biggest climb of the week on the NACC 200, but the biggest climb of the year is Panda Bear And Sonic Boom and their second collaborative album, A ? Of When. Panda Bear is Noah Lennox (also of Animal Collective). Between his band (12) and his solo (7) releases, this album is his 21st LP. Sonic Boom is Peter Kember, who between his solo releases, collaborative work, and projects with Spectrum (4) and E.A.R. (11) has 20 LPs under his belt. Together they leap 176 spots on the NACC 200, the biggest chart climb since June of 2025.
5] This week’s most-added album comes from Australian quartet Swapmeet. The band formed in Adelaide in 2022. They initially recorded as Sour Bob until a local musician named Soursob Bob claimed the names were too similar and issued a cease-and-desist. They are the first international band signed to LA label Winspear, and their debut LP, Mount Zero, collects 51 Top 10 Adds this week. You can expect a pretty hefty NACC 200 climb next week as they also hop aboard the chart this week at #167.
GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:
1] The aforementioned Phoebe Bridgers easily collects a second frame at #1 on NACC Singles this week with “Lost Boys.” It comes from her upcoming third LP, Lost Weekend, due August 14.
2] By climbing to #1 at NACC Non-Comm this week, Jack White makes that chart the first this year to feature more #1s than we saw during the entirety of 2025. And we still have 21 weeks of charts left this year!
3] Vince Staples enjoys a fifth week at #1 on NACC Hip Hop and, in doing so, ties Danny Brown and Thundercat as the three artists to spend the most time atop that chart so far this year. Mexican Institute Of Sound And Meridian Brothers do the same at NACC Latin, matching Ana Tijoux. Both have spent six weeks at #1 this year.
4] The NACC Blues Chart now has as many #1s as it did in all of 2025 as Chris Bleary rises to #1.
5] Boards Of Canada now have the most weeks spent atop NACC Electronic all to themselves as they spent a fifth week at #1. They rise to the top at NACC Chill as well.
