Beabadoobee looks to oust Phoebe Bridgers from #1

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] Filipino & British singer and songwriter Beatrice Laus, who has recorded as Beabadoobee since 2017, has had a fairytale presence on the NACC 200 over the last decade. We’ve featured her here over a dozen times. She’s released four studio albums and all four have reached the NACC 200 Top 10. Rising 2-1 this week, her fourth LP, Pylon, gives the artist her third NACC 200 chart-topper. She also stops Phoebe Bridgers from taking ‘the longest-running #1 of 2026’ title all to herself (she remains tied with Mitski & Arlo Parks). Beabadoobee also spends a second week at #1 atop NACC NEXT.

2] No albums reach or rebound into the NACC Top 10 this week for only the second time this year. Madison, WI-formed, Chicago, IL-based band Slow Pulp easily enjoys the biggest climb within the Top 10 with their third studio album, Melodie. It jumps from 10 to 4. No other album climbs more than two spots within the Top 10 this week.

3] Coming tantalizingly close to the Top 10 (and scoring the biggest climb on the entire NACC 200 in the process) is Aussie singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin. She came up just a bit short of the most-added title last week with her fourth LP, The Gem. Blondshell grabbed five more Top 10 Adds than Jacklin to take that honor. But Jacklin takes Round 2 this week, overtaking Blondshell on the NACC 200. Jacklin jumps 124-11 while Blondshell climbs 109-12. We get the impression this seesaw battle could continue next week.

4] Collecting two of our usual five features this week is Indianapolis quintet Wishy. Founded in 2021 and led by former Hoops founding member Kevin Kauter, the band has released three EPs and two LPs, including their second full-length, Nature’s Pill. The album collects 61 Top 10 Adds this week and simultaneously enjoys the NACC 200’s highest debut at #31. The band is in search of their third Top 10 on our flagship chart and is certainly off to a promising start.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:

1] Irish quintet Fontaines DC has spent a sixth straight week at #1 on NACC Singles with “Marianne.” Cage The Elephant, who were #1 before Fontaines DC and have held #2 for all six “Marianne” chart-topping weeks, remain in second again. While their gap to Fontaines DC shrinks this week, the lead is still fairly substantial. Fontaines DC now hold the second-longest run atop NACC Singles in 2026, and they would need two more weeks at #1 to match Death Cab For Cutie’s eight-week run on top.

2] NACC Canadian sees one of the stranger #1 runs the chart has seen. Two weeks ago Wine Lips leapt 11-1 with their fourth LP, TV Dinner. Then last week the album crumbled all the way down to #20. This week sees Wine Lips soar right back up to #1. We can’t recall another album that spent two non-consecutive weeks at #1 on this chart while never appearing anywhere else in the Top 10, either before its first week at #1 or in the week between its two stints on top.

3] The unusual fluidity of #1s atop NACC Jazz continues again this week as the chart sees its seventh different #1 in seven weeks. No other NACC Chart has seen a run like this in 2026. This week, jazz icons Branford Marsalis & Dianne Reeves team up (along with his quartet) for Dedicated To You. That ‘you’ is John Coltrane, and the album rises 2-1.
