NACC 200 NOTABLES:
1] Chicago quartet Ratboys strengthens its lead on the NACC 200 with their sixth LP, Singin’ To An Empty Chair, and spends a second week atop the chart. Their point total this week is a new high for 2026, and Ratboys now has nearly 44% more points than this week’s #2 album from Dry Cleaning. They also build their lead on the NACC NEXT and Non-Comm Charts, where they also spend a second week on top.
2] Four new albums reach the NACC Top 10 this week. The most dramatic of entrances comes from Mitsuki Laycock, who records simply as Mitski. She has been a dominant force on the NACC 200 and holds the record for the most cumulative weeks at #1 the chart has seen with 16; a record she seems poised to build on quite soon. Her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About To Happen To Me, explodes onto the chart this week at #4. It’s the highest debut the NACC 200 has seen since Wet Leg debuted at #4 in July. She also takes the most-added honors in a big way. Her 95 Top 10 NACC Adds are the most the NACC 200 Top 30 Adds Chart has seen dating back to October of 2022, when Alvvays collected the same number of adds.
3] Also reaching the Top 10 this week and making the biggest climb into the top tier is last week’s most-added album from Sam Beam, who you know musically as Iron & Wine. His eighth solo studio album, Hen’s Teeth, leaps into the Top 10 with a 53-6 climb and gives him his fifth Top 10-peaking album on the NACC 200. Remember Sports also reaches the Top 10, up 20-8, and Mandy, Indiana rises 13-9. These are the first Top 10 albums for both bands.
4] Enjoying the biggest climb on the NACC 200 so far this year is Claire Chicha. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter records as Spill Tab and released her first music in 2019. AngieAngieAngie is the deluxe version of her 2025 debut LP, Angie, and adds four new tracks to the album, which soars from 199-35 this week.
GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:
1] Rising back 2-1 on the NACC Singles Chart is Arctic Monkeys. Their single, “Opening Night,” first reached #1 two weeks ago and this week rebounds 2-1. The song is one of five tracks that have been released from the 23-song HELP (2) compilation from War Child Records. Another from The Last Dinner Party debuts on the NACC Singles Chart at #21 this week. The album will be released on Friday.
2] Grammy, NAACP, & Soul Train Music award-winner and platinum-selling artist Jill Scott hasn’t released an album in over a decade. But her sixth LP, To Whom It May Concern, is making waves at College and Non-Comm Radio. She rises into the Top 20 of the NACC 200 and jumps 6-1 at NACC R&B/Soul this week.
3] After topping the NACC Non-Comm Chart for two weeks, Americana music legend Lucinda Williams has topped another NACC Chart this week, climbing 2-1 at NACC Folk with her sixteenth studio album, World’s Gone Wrong.
