Geese Looking to Fly High at #1 for a Fourth Week

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] Brooklyn quartet Geese nests in the #1 spot on the NACC 200 for a fourth week with their fourth studio album, Getting Killed. And if they stay any longer, we’re gonna run out of groan-worthy puns to describe their stay in the top spot. They also hold down #1 for a fourth week at NACC NEXT and NACC Non-Comm. Their lead over the rest of the pack shrinks some more this week, but is still fairly substantial. That may not matter with the move the next record we’re featuring made this week…

2] The surprise album from Snocaps is taking College and Non-Comm Radio by storm. After taking most-added honors last week, the quartet takes two of our feature honors this week: The biggest climb into the Top 10 and the overall biggest climb on the NACC 200. Their massive 133-3 climb is the largest into the Top 10 since August of 2023 and is the biggest climb we’ve ever seen into the Top 3.

3] After four weeks of just one new album reaching the Top 10, a whopping five albums reach the top tier this week. That’s the most since our July 1 charts. Along with the aforementioned Snocaps, we are getting new Top 10s from They Are Gutting A Body Of Water (11-6), Alice Phoebe Lou (52-7), Florence & The Machine (25-8), and Sudan Archives (13-9).

4] Enjoying the highest debut on the NACC 200 this week is Aussie quartet, The Belair Lip Bombs. Formed in 2017 in Victoria, the band has released two albums, including their latest, Again. The album jumps onto the chart at #25 and gives us our first opportunity to feature them here in our weekly NACC Chart Recap.

5] Another Australian musician grabs this week’s most-added album. Harriette Pilbeam, who records under the name Hatchie, has taken this honor twice before, first in 2019 with her debut LP, Keepsake, and again in 2022 with her follow-up, Giving The World Away. Now her third studio album, Liquorice, has done the same. Interestingly, all three albums collected nearly the same number of Top 10 Adds (between 71-74). OK, maybe that’s not that interesting, but go with us here. The album also debuts at #73 this week.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

1] Courtney Barnett scores a third week at #1 on NACC Singles with “Stay In Your Lane.” It’s one of six #1 singles this year to spend three or more weeks on top of the 18 that have topped the chart this year.

2] The legendary Buddy Guy spends an impressive fourteenth week at #1 on NACC Blues with his 20th album, Ain’t Done With The Blues. He now has not only the longest-running #1 of 2025 on any NACC Chart but the longest chart-topper we’ve seen on all NACC Charts, going back to 2022 when Adrian Quesada topped NACC Latin for 17 weeks.

3] In addition to reaching the NACC 200 Top 10 this week, Brittney Parks, aka Sudan Archives, is the only other act this week apart from Geese to top two NACC Charts simultaneously. Her third album, The BPM, climbs to #1 on both the NACC Electronic and R&B/Soul Charts. She also climbs 6-2 on NACC Hip Hop.

4] Three of our genre charts now have more #1s this year than they saw last year. NACC Latin has seen three more than in 2024. NACC Jazz has seen four more chart-toppers. And NACC World has one more than last year.
