NACC 200 NOTABLES:
1] Brooklyn quartet Geese grabs a second week at #1 this week with their fourth studio album, Getting Killed. After collecting the most points any #1 has enjoyed in nearly three years last week, they hold strong this week with a negligible loss of points. The big news for the album is the ascent to #1 on yet another NACC Chart. Geese climbs 5-1 on NACC Canadian and now tops four charts simultaneously with a second week atop both NACC NEXT and NACC Non-Comm.
2] Just one album reaches the top tier this week. It’s last week’s most-added album From The Pyre, from English five-piece The Last Dinner Party. After topping the NACC 200 in 2024 with their debut album, the follow-up takes a huge step forward in possibly giving the band their second NACC 200 #1. From the Pyre storms ahead from 41-6 this week.
3] The biggest climb on the NACC 200 comes from an artist who is no stranger to our charts. Aussie musician Courtney Barnett has enjoyed three NACC 200 Top 10 albums, including her 2018 effort, Tell Me How You Really Feel, which spent seven weeks at #1. Her first new music since 2023 is a single called “Stay In Your Lane,” and it leaps from 185-32 on the NACC 200. It’s one of just four singles this year to enjoy the week’s biggest climb on the chart.
4] New York native Helen Ballentine, who records under the moniker Skullcrusher, enjoys the week’s highest debut on the NACC 200. She began making music in 2019 and released two EPs in 2020 & 2021, before her debut studio album, Quiet The Room, surfaced in 2022. Now her sophomore album, And Your Song Is Like A Circle, debuts at #41, allowing us our first opportunity to showcase her in our Weekly NACC Chart Recap.
5] Two albums tie for most-added honors this week, the fourth such occurrence this year. Chapel Hill musician Eliza McLamb returns with her second LP, Good Story, and matches Irish quintet Just Mustard and their third studio album, WE WERE JUST HERE, with 49 Top 10 Adds. Just Mustard also debuts at #189 on the NACC 200. No doubt a big climb, as well as a lofty debut for McLamb, awaits these records next week.
GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
1] In addition to enjoying the biggest climb on the NACC 200 this week, the new single from Courtney Barnett makes quick work of the NACC Singles Chart as well. Her “Stay In Your Lane” soars from 13-1, giving the chart its 18th #1 of the year.
2] Blues legend Buddy Guy enjoys a twelfth week atop NACC Blues this week with his 20th album, Ain’t Done With The Blues, and in doing so ties Tommy Castro And The Painkillers for the longest run at #1 this year on that chart. But greater than that, he also ties Casto and his band for the longest run any artist has spent atop any NACC Chart in 2025.
3] Aussie quartet Cut Copy breaks a tie with Tokimonsta this week as their seventh album, Moments, logs a sixth week at #1 on NACC Electronic. It also ties them with Caribou and Alison Goldfrapp for the longest #1 run the NACC Electronic Chart has seen in the last three years.
