Mitski Looks To Hold Off Gorillaz For A Third Week Atop The NACC 200

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] After a whisper-close battle for #1 last week that nearly saw Mitski surrender the top spot to Gorillaz after only one week on top, she puts the pedal down and puts a bit more breathing room between herself and Gorillaz this week. Both albums build in points, but she surges more and grows an even larger lead with her eighth LP, Nothing’s About To Happen To Me. In fact, she enjoys the highest #1 point total since November of last year. Her third week on top now gives her a cumulative 19 weeks atop the NACC 200 (four more weeks than any other artist). She also rises 2-1 and ousts Gorillaz from the top spot at NACC NEXT.

2] Three albums reach the NACC Top 10 this week. Tops among them is the album we featured last week, which was the week’s most-added. Kim Gordon‘s third solo effort, Play Me, races ahead from 53-8, giving her her first Top 10 NACC-peaking album. Also reaching the top tier is Lillie West, who records under the name Lala Lala. She’s up 12-9 with her fifth studio album, Heaven 2, to land her third Top 10 album on the chart. And Philly quartet Nothing rises 11-10 with their fifth LP, A Short History Of Decay. After a six-year gap, they are back in the Top 10 for a second time.

3] The NACC 200’s highest debut of the week belongs to Philly five-piece Sweet Pill. Formed in 2018 by vocalist Zayna Youseff and guitarist Jayne Williams as a senior project while attending Rowan University. They carried on and grew, moving to Philadelphia during the pandemic. Now their second studio album, Still There’s A Glow, jumps aboard the NACC 200 at #28.

4] The week’s biggest climb on the NACC 200 this week comes from Los Angeles sextet The Sophs. The band, led by singer and songwriter Ethan Ramon, is making waves with their debut LP, GOLDSTAR. The album jumps from 149-35 on the NACC 200 this week.

5] Most-Added honor was a tighter race than normal, with the Top 3 add-getters closer to one another than in any week since the first week of 2026. In the end, it was Aaron Livingston, who records as Son Little, who took the top spot with his sixth album, Cityfolk. The Philly native has been making music since 2014 and gets his first mention this week in our Wednesday NACC Chart Recap by gathering 46 Top 10 Adds.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:

1] Taking over the top spot of NACC Singles this week is Toronto quartet Metric. The Emily Haines-led band has been together since 1998, and the first single from their upcoming 10th album, Romanticize The Dive (out April 24th), is “Victim Of Luck.” The song rises 2-1 on the chart and 28-21 on the NACC 200. They also jump 20-11 at NACC Singles with the second song from the album, “Time Is A Bomb.”

2] Prolific electronic artist Moby has never spent more than three years between albums since he came on the scene with his 1992 self-titled debut, and his output has only picked up in recent years. His 1995 song “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die” was used throughout the Netflix series, Stranger Things, and his 23rd LP, Future Quiet, opens with a reimagined version of the song, featuring vocals from Jacob Lusk of Gabriels. The album debuts at #1 on the NACC Chill Chart this week.

3] Making the biggest climb to #1 on any NACC Chart this week is Steven Ellison, who records as Flying Lotus. Over 20 years of making music, he has released six LPs and scored nearly 10 films. And his eleventh EP, BIG MAMA, rises 7-1 this week at NACC Electronic.
