Moisturizer by Wet Leg Becomes the Undisputed #1 of 2025

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] Wet Leg not only continues to dominate the NACC Charts this week but builds even more over last week’s numbers. Their second LP, moisturizer, now has the highest point total of 2025. No other #1 album has enjoyed a bigger number of points since April 2024. Their lead over the #2 album grows to nearly 1000 points (and that gap itself is far more than the point total of any other record on the chart). They gain ground at both NACC NEXT (where their fourth week on top ties them with Franz Ferdinand for the most weeks at #1 there this year) as well as a third week atop NACC Non-Comm. And if that wasn’t enough, they also scored a rare non-Canadian #1 on NACC Canadian, rising 3-1.

2] Last week’s most added album from Indigo De Souza (which was also last week’s third-highest debut on the NACC 200), makes a quick move into the top tier, rising 34-7. Her fourth studio album, Precipice, becomes her third straight Top 10-peaking record on the chart with that move. It’s this week’s only new Top 10 entry.

3] Australian act Folk Bitch Trio enjoy this week’s biggest climb on the NACC 200 with their debut LP, Now Would Be A Good Time. Formed in 2020, the group signed to Jagjaguwar earlier this year and sees their album race from 171 to 14 this week. That’s the fifth biggest move for a top climber this year.

4] This week’s highest debut comes from Kurt Vile And Luke Roberts. Vile is no stranger to the NACC 200, scoring his third ‘highest debut’ here with this collaborative EP. For Roberts, it’s his first time here, but that was exactly the point of working together for Vile. He’d heard Roberts’ demo of “Classic Love” and wanted to make sure it was open to a wider audience. He’s certainly done that here with the EP debuting at #25.

5] Brighton quartet The New Eves have been causing a stir with their theatrical live shows, and now they have a debut album to go along with it. The New Eve Is Rising collects 44 Top 10 Add this week to narrowly best Debby Friday and Wisp for this week’s most-added album.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

– Kevin Parker, aka Tame Impala, has returned with an over seven-minute-long new song, “End Of Summer.” The runtime hasn’t dampened airplay for the electronic-drenched song. It soars from 20-1 to top the NACC Singles Chart this week.

– Aside from Wet Leg, only one other artist tops multiple NACC Charts this week. Adrian Quesada tops NACC Latin for a fifth week with Boleros Psicodélicos II and now rises 2-1 at NACC World. He already topped Chill as well with this album.

– It’s hard not to mention heavy metal band Gwar topping the NACC Heavy Chart this week. Together since 1984, their grotesque and elaborate live shows are the stuff of legend. Their new EP, The Return Of Gor Gor, rises 5-1 on the chart.
