Unstoppable Wet Leg

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] There seems to be no stopping Wet Leg… at least not for now. Their NACC 200 lead shrinks, but not by much, and it’s still sizable. Their fifth week at #1 moves them into a tie with Father John Misty for the second-longest stay at #1 this year and moves them within just one week of tying Japanese Breakfast for the longest stay. They remain at #1 on NACC NEXT for a sixth week (two more weeks than anyone else has spent at #1 there this year) as well as a sixth week at NACC Non-Comm (tying Sharon Van Etten for the longest stay there in 2025). They also top the NACC Canadian Chart for a third straight week.

2] Making the biggest climb into the NACC Top 10 not only this week but this year is one of the bands that tied for ‘Most-Added’ honors last week: Teethe. The Texas quartet’s sophomore LP, Magic Of The Sale, skyrockets from 119-7. It’s the only record to climb from outside the Top 100 into the Top 10 this year. Only one other record hit that mark last year as well. The last time someone made a bigger climb into the Top 10 was way back in September of 2023. Honorable mention also goes to Natalie Bergman, who rose 21-10. Like Teethe, this is her first Top 10 at College & Non-Comm Radio.

3] Soaring 169 spots on the NACC 200 is the other band that tied for ‘Most-Added’ honors last week. San Francisco’s Osees races from 180-11 on the chart this week with their 29th LP, Abomination Revealed At Last. That is the fourth-biggest climb up the NACC 200 this year.

4] Big Thief enjoys this week’s highest debut on the NACC 200 with their dual single, “Grandmother” b/w “Los Angeles.” Just last week, their single “Incomprehensible” was the week’s biggest climber on the chart. Both can be found inside the Top 40 of the NACC 200 and the Top 4 of the NACC Singles Chart this week. All three songs will be included on their highly anticipated sixth album, Double Infinity, out next month.

5] This week’s most-added album comes from Boston quartet Pile. Their ninth studio album, Sunshine And Balance Beams, collects 47 Top 10 Adds, slightly besting Cass McCombs and Marissa Nadler for the crown this week. Pile’s last release, Hot Air Balloon (EP) enjoyed the same lovely ‘most-added’ fate the first chart week of 2024.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

– Asheville, NC’s Wednesday is back at #1 on NACC Singles this week after three weeks away. Several advance singles have been released from their upcoming sixth album, Bleeds, but none has hit harder than the first, “Elderberry Wine.” The song spent two weeks at #1 on NACC Singles in July before three others took the top spot. But Wednesday beat all of them this week by rising back 3-1.

Adrian Quesada tops NACC Latin for a seventh week this week with Boleros Psicodélicos II and now holds the title for the longest #1 run there this year all to himself. He also rebounds 3-1 at NACC World for a second chart-topping week there as well.

– Influential rapper Tyler, The Creator has risen to #1 on NACC Hip Hop with his ninth album, Don’t Tap The Glass. The Billboard 200 chart-topping album (his fourth in a row to reach #1 there) climbs 6-1 this week while also advancing 18-12 at NACC R&B/Soul
