Wet Leg Dominates 2025 NACC Charts with Record-Breaking Run

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] Wet Leg keeps easy hold of the NACC 200 penthouse this week, grabbing their fourth week at #1 with their second LP, moisturizer. Though their lead does shrink this week, it remains quite substantial. A cumulative 11 weeks atop the NACC 200 with their first two albums helps Wet Leg rise to #6 on the all-time list of artists who have spent the most time at #1. They also now have the most weeks at #1 in 2025 at NACC NEXT where they enjoy a fifth week on top. They spent a fourth week at #1 on NACC Non-Comm and a second at NACC Canadian.

2] Making the biggest climb into the NACC Top 10 this week is Forth Wanderers. Having returned after a seven-year hiatus, the New Jersey five-piece jumps 12-6 with their third LP, The Longer This Goes On. This gives us our first opportunity to feature the band on our weekly NACC Chart Recap.

3] Also reaching the Top 10 this week is Folk Bitch Trio. The Aussie’s debut LP, Now Would Be A Good Time, was last week’s biggest mover on the NACC 200, and this week gives them their first NACC Top 10 album, rising 14-8.

4] Last week’s most-added album from The New Eves makes chart waves again this week by enjoying the highest debut on the NACC 200. Their first studio album, The New Eve Is Rising, leaps aboard the chart this week at #25.

5] Two bands tie for most-added honors this week, and this is only the 10th time that has ever happened on NACC Adds. San Francisco quintet Osees is back. The band has tweaked its name many times over the years. Abomination Revealed At Last is their overall 29th album and eighth under the Osees moniker. This is the fifth time the band has scored a most-added record, and they’ll soon be in search of their third #1. Tying Osees is Denton, TX quartet Teethe. Their sophomore LP, Magic Of The Sale, collects 48 Top 10 Adds. Teethe beats Osees on the NACC 200 where it debuts at #119 to Osees #180 debut. No doubt both will be racing up next week’s chart.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK

– Brooklyn trio Big Thief reaches #1 on NACC Singles this week in one of the more unorthodox journeys to #1. They debuted inside the Top 10 and quickly rose to #2 on the chart in early June. They then slid away over time, dropping as far as #24 last week, before exploding back up 23 spots this week, besting Neko Case (a recent #1 herself) by just one point to tadke the crown.

Adrian Quesada tops NACC Latin for a sixth week with Boleros Psicodélicos II and, in doing so, ties Novalima for the most weeks spent at #1 on this chart in 2025.

– Legendary blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy rises 6-1 on NACC Blues this week with his 20th studio album, Ain’t Done With The Blues. Not that he needed a reintroduction, but the 89-year-old musician enjoyed a cameo in one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year, Sinners. That guest appearance helped introduce the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and blues music to a whole new generation.
