NACC 200 NOTABLES:
1] After two weeks holding at #2, not only does Brooklyn quartet Geese rise to #1 this week, but they do so in rousing fashion. Their fourth studio album, Getting Killed, scores the most points any NACC 200 chart-topper has enjoyed since November of 2022! This is the band’s first time reaching the top of the chart. The NACC 200 is not the only chart they reached #1 on this week; the band also rose 4-1 at NACC Non-Comm and 8-1 at NACC NEXT, scoring the lauded NACC radio hat trick.
2] Last week’s most-added album from Melina Mae Duterte, aka Jay Som, wastes no time reaching the top tier of the NACC 200. Her fourth LP, Belong, was a Top 5 debut on the chart last week at #67. This week it soars to #10, giving Jay Som her third straight Top 10-peaking album. Belong is the only new entry in the Top 10 this week.
3] Enjoying this week’s highest NACC 200 debut is Kevin Parker, who records as Tame Impala. We featured the Aussie musician here last week when his spooky season hit, “Dracula,” topped the NACC Singles Chart. Now his highly anticipated fifth album, Deadbeat, has been released, and it enters the chart at #21 this week.
4] Most-added honors this week go to London-based five-piece The Last Dinner Party. Their debut album, Prelude To Ecstasy, topped the NACC 200 for two weeks last year. Now their follow-up, From The Pyre, collects 60 NACC Top 10 Adds and bests 136 other official adds for the top spot on the NACC 200 Adds Chart. The album also scores a Top 3 debut, opening at #41 on the chart this week.
GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
1] Returning to #1 on NACC Singles this week is Thundercat (the musical alias for Stephen Bruner). He rose to #1 two weeks ago with his double single “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time” b/w “Children Of The Baked Potato” feat. Remi Wolfe. This week he rises back 3-1 to nab a second week atop the singles chart.
2] Melbourne, Australia’s Cut Copy enjoys a fifth week at #1 on the NACC Electronic Chart this week with their seventh album, Moments. In doing so, they tie Tokimonsta for the longest stay on top of this chart in 2025. They’ll need to fend off a fast-charging Purity Ring to take the crown for themselves next week.
3] With Mike LeDonne’s Groover Quartet rising to #1 on NACC Jazz this week, the chart becomes the first to produce more #1s this year than it did last year. Both the NACC Non-Comm and NACC World Chart are the next closest now, as both are just one new #1 away from tying last year’s tally for chart-toppers.
