Death Cab For Cutie looks to head into the holiday break at #1

NACC 200 NOTABLES:

1] Death Cab For Cutie puts an exclamation point on their #1 run atop the NACC 200 as we head into our summer week off from charts. Not only does their 11th LP, I Built You A Tower, remain at #1, but it continues to gain points over the week prior. They also enjoy a fourth week atop NACC NEXT and a third atop NACC Non-Comm. And with no reporting next week, no one will challenge them for the top until our July 14 charts.

2] Three albums climb into the NACC 200’s Top 10 that weren’t there last week. After dipping down outside the Top 20 last week, Athens, GA band Of Montreal turns around and races back up 23-10 to make the biggest climb into the top tier with their 20th album, Aethermead. Founded in 1996 by front person Kevin Barnes, the band has enjoyed several most-added & biggest climber features over the years. Their latest album is their second to peak in the NACC 200 Top 10. Their 16th LP, Ur Fun, went to #1 in 2020.

3] After reaching #11 with her debut LP, Lighthouse, in 2024, Jana Bahrich, who records as Francis Of Delirium, rises into the Top 10 for the first time this week. Her sophomore album, Run, Run Pure Beauty, jumps from 15 to 9 on the NACC 200. Born in Vancouver, BC, Bahrich was raised criss-crossing the globe as the child of international school teachers. She eventually landed in Luxembourg, where she has lived for over a decade. She also reaches the Top 10 at NACC NEXT, where she rises 16-9 for her second Top 10 there.

4] Back in the Top 10 this week after a week away are Los Angeles trio MUNA. Just in time for Pride, the queer band reached the top tier two weeks ago, up 12-9, with their fourth studio album, Dancing On The Wall. This week, the recent Billboard Magazine cover band bounced back up 11-7 to reach a new peak on the NACC 200. They also enjoy a second week at #4 on NACC Electronic.

5] This week’s highest debut on the NACC 200 comes from last week’s most-added album. The third LP from Styrofoam Winos is titled Any River. Longtime friends Joe Kenkel, Trevor Nikrant, and Lou Turner formed the band in 2016 and are enjoying a real breakthrough with their latest effort. It got them featured here for the first time last week and, by debuting at #35 on the NACC 200, for a second time this week.

6] Taking ‘Most-Added Honors’ this week is longtime indie favorite, Beth Orton. The English musician came on the scene in 1993 with her debut album, Superpinkymandy. Over the years, she has been nominated for the Mercury Prize (twice), won the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist, played Lilith Fair, and collaborated with The Chemical Brothers, Emmylou Harris, & Jim O’Rourke. Her ninth LP, The Ground Above, collects 44 Top 10 Adds this week and debuts at #166 on the NACC 200.

GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:

1] Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin has returned with the first single from her upcoming fourth LP, The Gem, due out September 25. “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon)” scored the most-added single last week and this week soars 23-1 on NACC Singles, besting last week’s #1 from Lucy Dacus by two points.

2] The huge leap at NACC Singles notwithstanding, the top of most NACC Charts was largely unchanged this week. The only other charts that changed hands with new #1s were NACC R&B/Soul, where Honey Dijon jumps 8-1, and NACC Canadian, where La Sécurité jumps 12-1. Kacey Musgraves returns to #1 at NACC Folk, but all of the other 11 NACC Charts retain their #1 from last week.

3] At roughly the halfway point of this year’s NACC Charts, Tinsley Ellis (Blues) and Death Cab For Cutie (Singles) hold the longest #1 runs any NACC Charts have seen, with eight weeks at #1. NACC Non-Comm has seen the most #1s (14). It’s the same amount of #1s the chart saw throughout all of 2025. NACC Blues has seen the least with only five. Every #1 on the chart has spent four weeks or more at #1.
