NACC 200 NOTABLES:
1] We featured Phoebe Bridgers here last week when she scored the second-highest debut ever on the NACC 200, and it felt like a foregone conclusion that we’d be featuring her again this week as our new flagship chart-topper. And she didn’t just climb to #1 this week. She eviscerated her competition in doing so. Her third solo studio album, Lost Weekend, nearly doubled what the #2 album on the NACC 200 has this week. In fact, her total is the second-highest any record has achieved in 2026. Only Mitski had a better week back in March during her third of six weeks on top. Bridgers also tops the NACC NEXT and Non-Comm Charts.
2] Five albums land in the Top 10 of the NACC 200 this week that weren’t there last week. The biggest jump into the top tier comes from Boston-formed, Lawrence, KS-residing duo Sweeping Promises. Lira Modal and Caufield Schnug met at Hendrix College in 2008, but didn’t form Sweeping Promises until 2019. Their third LP, You Say I Romanticize, gives them their second Top 10-peaking album as they leap from 84-9.
3] Also reaching the NACC Top 10 this week for the first time are The Womack Sisters (racing ahead 33-4) & Love Spells (up 11-7). Both Death Cab For Cutie (14-8) and Allison Russell (13-10) return to the Top 10 as well with albums that peaked earlier this year at #1 and #5, respectively.
4] Enjoying the highest debut of the week is two-thirds of an album. Atlanta-born, Fort Worth, TX-raised Leon Bridges has been releasing his upcoming fifth studio album in batches. The first four songs came out on July 17 and recently reached our Top 20. Now the next four of twelve tracks have been added and the project, being promoted for the first time in earnest, leaps onto the NACC 200 at #17. The entire album will be available September 25.
5] Manchester, England quartet Westside Cowboy is making waves with their debut LP. The band formed in 2023 and has released two EPs (the first last summer and the second very early this year). Now their first full-length effort scores them the most-added album of the week. It Goes On collects 53 Top 10 adds and lands one of the Top 5 highest debuts this week on the NACC 200, opening at #51.
GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:
1] Bowling Green, KY six-piece Cage The Elephant enjoys a second week at #1 on NACC Singles this week with “Beaches In Tennessee.” They expand their lead significantly over the #2 single, more than quadrupling last week’s gap. But that might not mean much next week, as this week’s #2 single is a debut with a whole lot of momentum (as this week’s most-added single). Time will tell if that lead is big enough.
2] After a trio of records extended the lead for the longest run atop any NACC Chart in 2026 last week, one falls away this week. So now two remain. Boards Of Canada @ NACC Electronic and Vince Staples @ NACC Hip Hop have now both spent 10 weeks atop their respective charts. They become the only artists this year to spend double-digit weeks at #1.
3] Allison Russell, who we mentioned earlier for her rising back into the Top 10 of the NACC 200, enjoys a fifth week at #1 on NACC Folk this week. That moves her into a tie with Emily Scott Robinson and I’m With Her for the longest run atop NACC Folk in 2026.
