NACC 200 NOTABLES:
1] Beatrice Laus, aka Beabadoobee, enjoys a third week at #1 on the NACC 200 with her fourth LP, Pylon. The album ties her 2024 release, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, as her longest-running #1 of her three chart-toppers. Interestingly, her third-week run at #1 was much shorter than many expected. The previous #1 to Pylon on the NACC 200 (Phoebe Bridgers’ Lost Weekend) gained points from the previous week and, after falling 350+ points behind Beabadoobee last week, came within less than 100 points of the top this week. Slow Pulp (3-3) and Wishy (6-4) also moved into contention for #1, so next week could get interesting! Watch this space.
2] Just one album reaches the NACC 200’s top tier this week. Maryland-raised, Vermont-residing musician Greg Freeman scores his first Top 10 with his third studio album, All Set The Bone, which jumps from 12-7. Aside from his five-spot climb into the Top 10 this week, no one else in the top 11 moved up or down more than two spots, and most moved only one spot or held steady. So his move was a bold one.
3] Screaming onto the NACC 200 this week at #12 is Dublin, Ireland five-piece Fontaines DC. The band formed in 2014, and their profile has risen ever since. The lead single from this, their fifth studio album, just spent seven weeks at #1 and only missed tying for the most weeks at #1 on that chart because their album came out this week. That album, Dopamine Chamber, leaps aboard the NACC 200 at #12 (just one spot lower than their previous album, Romance, debuted). They are just two spots away from scoring their fifth Top 10 in as many tries.
4] This week’s most-added album comes from Melbourne, Australia trio The Avalanches. The band formed in 1997. Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi are the two constant members. Their fourth studio album, No Bad Memories (their first in six years), features a bevy of guest singers (as their albums normally do), including Karen O, Jaime xx, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer, Panda Bear, and, perhaps most unexpectedly, Haley Joel Osment and Carly Simon. The album collects 61 Top 10 Adds and jumps aboard the NACC 200 at #49.
GENRE CHART HIGHLIGHTS:
1] With Fontaines DC graduating from the NACC Singles Chart this week with the release of their fifth album, a new #1 was inevitable. Rising from 3-1 is Scottish trio Chvrches. Since forming in 2011, the band has recorded four studio albums, their last coming in 2021. They’ve released a few singles since then, but their latest, “Roses,” seems to signal a fifth LP. We shall see!
2] Atlanta’s Mastodon extends their 2026-best sixth non-consecutive week at #1 on NACC Heavy with their ninth LP, Marrow Deep. And with just eight chart weeks left in the year, the odds they will end the year with the longest stay at #1 on that chart seem strong.
3] NACC Canadian & NACC Non-Comm continue to be the charts with the most turnover in 2026. This week the NACC Canadian chart once again matches NACC Non-Comm as it sees its 20th #1. Solo musicians Haley Blais and Sam Lynch teamed up for a project called True Mountain Laurel. Their debut effort together, Angel So Bad, leaps 16-1 this week. For its part, NACC Non-Comm has a different #1 this week than it had last week as well, but it’s a return to #1 for Alabama Shakes.
